ONdeh OndEh Gula Melaka
Puasa2 ni di perantauan, cuba paling kuat tahan keinginan nak makan mewah macam selalu..
pikir yg basic yg mudah buat, yang biasa buat etc etc,
sebab nak mencari bahan satu, clash ngan kelas n assignment satu, skill memasak lagi satu hahaha..
Tapi bulan puasa ni la rupanya paling banyak menerai skill2 baru..

asal dapat 70-80% rasa dah ok la tu.
kasi diskaun sikit kat point2 minus diatas...
So couple of days ago, I found out IGseller jual kuih muih preorder. best, banyak choice, tapi all come in sets, and its like 1 kuih per 1 jenis. so mmg beli untuk merasa je la kan. Kalau order untuk berdua mesti la beli lebih sket kan.. tapi not all we want are in one set, or not all in the set is what we want. So I ask my husband to pick one, and maybe i will take an effort to make them.
His first pick was kuih lopeh - tapi sebab nak mengukus n gulung daun pisang tu buat was was, i ask to pick another.
His second pick was onde2. ok fair enough. pernah buat ni ngan arwah tok dulu.. he ask when? haha betul jugak. that was when tok dok mai dok rumah ke rumah among us n other aunts and uncles. when she was still strong to travel and that was when i was really small.. less than 7yo.
ya tolong tok.. tolong menyibuk kot..
and to think back. i do remember trying to ball the ondeh2, trying hard xnak gula melaka tu poking out. hmm..
Checking up recipe, xnampak macam susah so why not give it a go..
My to go recipe blog to check is Azie's Kitchen.. mostly sebab bila type recipe kat google akan naik blog dia, and her recipe step by step really works. so in reference to my hubs, I always says Kak Azie hahaha..
I did as similar as i can, glad could get 97% of the items from the Asian groceries.

How To Do
(okay, this makes a plate for 2 person)
4 sudu tepung pulut
1 sudu tepung beras
daun pandan - diblender n tapis - ambil airnya
gula melaka potong kecil
kelapa parut + sikit garam - baru aumm rasanya
optional perwarna/perasa pandan
campur tepung, dan sedikit demi sedikit add on juice pandan.. (and pewarna setitik) until jadi dough lembut, n xmelekat..
the thing is, after dok biasa buat donut last year.. Im a bit more adventurous dengan doughmaking .. so mixing this ondeh2 dough, i just adjust by feel.. it was too wet lepas titik pewarna, i add tepung pulut 1 spoon, kering pulak.. soo skit2 tambah juice pandan until rasa .. mm ye betul la kot
so mengisi gula melaka, i like crunch of gula melaka bila makan onde2, so i use cube like, ada yg suka gula melaka cair so tu pakai yang hancur2, i do both sebab hubs suka the latter one. and i personally felt, yg kiub lagi senang bentuk.
membentuk ni sebab banyak tengok org buat pau n dumplings, so i make the ball macam tu- to bind the circle. lepas tu roll atas tapak tangan.. for me pakai tapak tangan lagi less pressure dpd pakai jari.
note- dah siap terus rebus
I left it over the counter, ingat nak rebus bila hubs balik tapi after 1/2 hour i found my bebola bocoq !!
selamat rebus masih menjadi..
hahaha
lepas rebus gaul ngan kelapa parut.
Kelapa parut ni frozen.. so wlaupon dah lerai, i steam it bit to give it bit more moist.
